La meva tutora del treball de recerca em va proposar el tema de l\u2019epigen\u00e8tica. Al principi no sabia ben b\u00e9 en que consistia, per\u00f2 a mesura que vaig anar-me documentat sobre el tema aquest es tornava m\u00e9s interessant.<br \/>\nAquesta documentaci\u00f3 va ser una mica dif\u00edcil, principalment el que seria la informaci\u00f3 sobre el propi estudi de l\u2019epigen\u00e8tica. Al ser un camp tant noved\u00f3s la informaci\u00f3 era escassa, i m\u00e9s pel fet que la majoria d\u2019investigacions que es realitzen actualment es centren en la seva aplicaci\u00f3 al c\u00e0ncer. Finalment vaig aconseguir trobar informaci\u00f3 en angl\u00e8s, amb el conseg\u00fcent problema de<br \/>\nla traducci\u00f3, on molts termes cient\u00edfics no en tenien o b\u00e9 eren molt complicats de traduir.<br \/>\nLa part pr\u00e0ctica, ja establerta des d\u2019un inici, va ser la m\u00e9s dif\u00edcil de realitzar. Aconseguircomprar el bacteri va resultar pr\u00e0cticament impossible. L\u2019empresa espanyola en la qual oferien Serratia marcescens mancava de bastant formalitat: no vaig poder ni tan sols posar-me en contacte amb ella. Vaig haver de rec\u00f3rrer doncs a una empresa nord-americana, amb la qual els tr\u00e0mits fins a poder comprar el bacteri van retardar molt la part pr\u00e0ctica del treball. Finalment<br \/>\nel bacteri va arribar per\u00f2 un altre problema va sorgir. Per tal d\u2019estudiar l\u2019expressi\u00f3 g\u00e8nica, en la part pr\u00e0ctica es necessitava cultivar el bacteri a diferents temperatures: inferiors i superiors a 31\u00b0C. L\u2019estufa de la qual dispos\u00e0vem, per\u00f2, partia dels 40\u00b0C, que un cop va ser utilitzada a aquesta temperatura pel cultiu, es va veure que tampoc estava ben regulada, ja que el<br \/>\nterm\u00f2metre marcava una temperatura de 60\u00b0C al seu interior. Malgrat tots els inconvenients, que semblaven mai acabar, es va poder realitzar la part<br \/>\npr\u00e0ctica amb \u00e8xit.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Conclusions:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En els bacteris, la interacci\u00f3 espec\u00edfica entre ADN-prote\u00efna es veu regulada,<br \/>\nmajorit\u00e0riament, per la metilaci\u00f3 de l\u2019ADN duta a terme per les metilases orfes: els factors ambientals, en el nostre cas la temperatura, influeixen en els patrons de metilaci\u00f3 (uni\u00f3 de prote\u00efnes a les regions reguladores de gens) afectant a la prote\u00efna o b\u00e9 a la seva uni\u00f3 a l\u2019ADN mitjan\u00e7ant la metilaci\u00f3 de l\u2019ADN. La metilaci\u00f3 produeix doncs la inhibici\u00f3 de la uni\u00f3 de la prote\u00efna amb les regions reguladores de gens. Aix\u00f2 succeeix perqu\u00e8 els enzims de restricci\u00f3, en<br \/>\nel cas de Serratia marcescens, SmaI (enzim de restricci\u00f3 de tipus II), no reconeixen les seq\u00fc\u00e8ncies metilades i, per tant, no poden tallar el gen a transcriure (la prote\u00efna doncs no pot unir-se a les regions reguladores del gen i comen\u00e7ar a transcriure\u2019l). Sense la transcripci\u00f3 del gen, tampoc<br \/>\ntindr\u00e0 lloc la posterior traducci\u00f3 als ribosomes ni la obtenci\u00f3 final de la prote\u00efna.<br \/>\nPodem doncs establir que els factors ambientals en els quals creix el cultiu controlen indirectament la expressi\u00f3 o repressi\u00f3 de certs gens.<br \/>\nAquest \u00e9s el fonament pel qual la prodigiosina \u00e9s produ\u00efda per Serratia marcescens en certes condicions ambientals: el bacteri transcriu el gen corresponent al pigment de la prodigiosina nom\u00e9s en temperatures inferiors a 31\u00b0C.<br \/>\nEn resum, aquest experiment que es podria qualificar com a senzill, ha servit per donar una petita pinzellada del gran m\u00f3n de l\u2019epigen\u00e8tica. I, tot i que, principalment la part pr\u00e0ctica, es podria haver dut a terme d\u2019una forma m\u00e9s professional, opino que s\u2019han sabut utilitzar al m\u00e0xim els limitats recursos dels quals es disposava, obtenint, segons la meva visi\u00f3, uns bons resultats. Aquests resultats ens han perm\u00e8s entendre, d\u2019una forma visual i pr\u00e0ctica, la complexa<br \/>\nexplicaci\u00f3 que s\u2019amaga darrere d\u2019un simple canvi de color.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Bibliografia:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>S.
