Ens comencem a preguntar com de gran deu ser el jaciment i davant la diversitat d&#8217;interpretacions (i tenint en compte que ja hav\u00edem treballat la noci\u00f3 de superf\u00edcie en cent\u00edmetres quadrats) es formula la pregunta seg\u00fcent: &#8211; 30 metres quadrats \u00e9s menys o m\u00e9s que una classe de l&#8217;escola?<br \/>\nEs formen grups i se&#8217;ls repta a que cadascun trobe la superf\u00edcie d&#8217;una aula de l&#8217;escola (no saben la f\u00f3rmula nom\u00e9s tenen una noci\u00f3 vaga sobre qu\u00e8 \u00e9s la superf\u00edcie) utilitzant els materials que ells consideren oportuns amb l&#8217;objectiu de comprovar si s\u00f3n majors o menors que el jaciment.<br \/>\nEls grups treballen de forma aut\u00f2noma per tal de trobar una estrat\u00e8gia pr\u00f2pia per a resoldre el problema. Uns comencen recobrint el terra de la classe amb folis per tal de trobar el n\u00famero de folis que caben a l&#8217;aula, veuen que els costar\u00e0 massa i decideixen enganxar folis per tal de construir un metre quadrat amb paper i a partir d&#8217;all\u00ed mirar quants com aquell cabrien a l&#8217;aula. Altres utilitzen una capsa oberta que troben a l&#8217;aula com a unitat de mesura per tal de veure quantes com aquella en cabrien al terra de la classe. Uns altres directament construeixen un metre quadrat amb cartr\u00f3 i comproven quants en caben a l&#8217;aula, esta idea agrada als altres grups que a poc a poc van tamb\u00e9 utilitzant-la. Tots ells grups apliquen sense saber-ho la f\u00f3rmula de l&#8217;\u00e0rea (costat x costat), no s\u00f3n conscients que estan utilitzant\u00a0 una f\u00f3rmula sin\u00f3 que la l\u00f2gica els porta a pensar que fent-ho d&#8217;esta manera no els caldr\u00e0 recobrir tota la classe de quadrats, contant un costat i l&#8217;altre i multiplicant-ho els donar\u00e0 el n\u00famero total de quadrats que recobreixen el terra de l&#8217;aula.<br \/>\nEl paper dels docents en la fase d&#8217;experimentaci\u00f3 \u00e9s intentar fer reflexionar l&#8217;alumnat sobre els possibles inconvenients que poden comportar determinades estrat\u00e8gies per tal de que en vagin trobant de m\u00e9s acurades.<br \/>\nNo obstant, es parteix de la premissa que qualsevol estrat\u00e8gia \u00e9s v\u00e0lida ja que fins i tot la que ens porte a un resultat erroni podr\u00e0 ser utilitzada en la fase en qu\u00e8 es compartiran les estrat\u00e8gies com a font d&#8217;aprenentatge. De l&#8217;error tamb\u00e9 s&#8217;apr\u00e8n.<br \/>\nAbans d&#8217;acabar la sessi\u00f3 es demana a l&#8217;alumnat que escriga els passos realitzats. En una nova sessi\u00f3 cada grup exposar\u00e0 les estrat\u00e8gies utilitzades a la resta de la classe amb l&#8217;objectiu d&#8217;aprendre i millorar els uns dels altres. En el debat generat al moment de compartir estrat\u00e8gies el docent afavoreix la identificaci\u00f3 per part dels alumnes de la f\u00f3rmula per calcular superf\u00edcie dels quadril\u00e0ters, f\u00f3rmula que de fet ja havien dedu\u00eft i utilitzat tots els grups.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Temporitzaci\u00f3: <\/strong>Dos sessions: una d&#8217;experimentaci\u00f3 i una per compartir les estrat\u00e8gies utilitzades.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recursos humans i materials:\u00a0<\/strong>A la primera sessi\u00f3 dos mestres per tal d&#8217;acompanyar el proc\u00e9s d&#8217;experimentaci\u00f3 i descoberta i a la segona un mestre. Material a disposici\u00f3 de l&#8217;alumnat per\u00f2 d&#8217;\u00fas voluntari: cinta m\u00e8trica, metres, folis, cartolines, cartons..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Valoracions i conclusions:\u00a0<\/strong>La valoraci\u00f3 \u00e9s positiva, l&#8217;alumnat es va implicar de forma activa en la resoluci\u00f3 del problema plantejat i aix\u00f2 va afavorir una viv\u00e8ncia intensa de la noci\u00f3 de superf\u00edcie. En el debat posterior a l&#8217;activitat principal es va poder observar que la majoria dels i les alumnes havien incorporat els conceptes de superf\u00edcie, metre quadrat i tamb\u00e9 diverses
