Un dels reptes m\u00e9s importants a qu\u00e8 ens enfrontem en la biologia computacional \u00e9s el desenvolupament de \u00abbessons digitals\u00bb, \u00e9s a dir, sistemes computacionals que ens permetin reproduir les caracter\u00edstiques principals de sistemes biol\u00f2gics i ens serveixin per a simular-hi diferents condicions o intervencions.<\/p>\n

Aquest tipus de bessons digitals s\u00f3n una eina comunament usada en enginyeria amb nombroses aplicacions industrials, per\u00f2 en biologia el problema \u00e9s molt m\u00e9s complex, tant per la complexitat de les dades i sistemes biol\u00f2gics com per les limitacions pr\u00f2pies del nostre coneixement.<\/p>\n

En aquesta xerrada repassarem l\u2019estat d\u2019aquest camp amb exemples sobre els bessons digitals que desenvolupa el Barcelona Supercomputing Center a diversos nivells i en discutirem les possibilitats i tamb\u00e9 les limitacions.<\/p>\n

A la part final, parlarem de la relaci\u00f3 entre els bessons digitals i la intel\u00b7lig\u00e8ncia artificial (IA) amb les noves perspectives que aquesta fusi\u00f3 de tecnologies obre en la biologia i la medicina.<\/p>\n
