Xerrada a c\u00e0rrec d’\u00c0ngela Dom\u00ednguez Garc\u00eda, Catedr\u00e0tica de Medicina Preventiva i Salut P\u00fablica, Universitat de Barcelona; CIBER Epidemiologia i Salut P\u00fablica (CIBERESP), Institut de Salut Carlos III, dins del cicle REPTES DEL SEGLE XXI organitzat pel PEHOC.<\/p>\n

El 7 de gener de 2020 les autoritats xineses van identificar un nou virus, que es va anomenar SARS-CoV-2, com a agent causant d\u2019un brot de pneum\u00f2nies. Aquest virus \u00e9s el tercer coronavirus d\u2019origen animal que ha saltat a l\u2019home. Dos coronavirus ho havien fet abans: al 2002 un d\u2019aquests virus va ocasionar l\u2019epid\u00e8mia de la s\u00edndrome respirat\u00f2ria aguda greu (SARS) amb 8098 casos i 774 defuncions. L\u2019altra \u00e9s el causant de la s\u00edndrome respirat\u00f2ria de l\u2019Orient Mitj\u00e0 (MERS), que es va identificar el 2012 i que fins el juliol 2022 ha ocasionat 2603 casos i 944 defuncions. El risc d\u2019epid\u00e8mies i pand\u00e8mies per virus emergents es pot minimitzar si es realitzen accions que tinguin en compte no nom\u00e9s la salut de les persones, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 la dels animals i la del planeta, actuant amb mesures de control apropiades i aprenent de les experi\u00e8ncies pr\u00e8vies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
