Us heu fixat algun cop en les formes dels flocs de neu? Llavors, de manera gradual, les gotes d&#8217;aigua es van congelant,\u00a0 convertint-se en part\u00edcules de gel rodejades de gotes d&#8217;aigua dins dels n\u00favols. Aquesta part gelada va augmentat a mesura que es condensa vapor a sobre seu, formant-se de manera progressiva un floc de neu complet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La forma dels flocs de neu<\/strong><br \/>\n<span lang=\"ca\">Les formes que formen s\u00f3n molt dependents de la temperatura i la humitat:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/serveiseducatius.xtec.cat\/cda-valldeboi\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu1369\/2018\/02\/morphologydiagram.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9047 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/serveiseducatius.xtec.cat\/cda-valldeboi\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu1369\/2018\/02\/morphologydiagram.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"747\" height=\"570\" srcset=\"https:\/\/serveiseducatius.xtec.cat\/cda-valldeboi\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu1369\/2018\/02\/morphologydiagram.jpg 747w, https:\/\/serveiseducatius.xtec.cat\/cda-valldeboi\/wp-content\/uploads\/usu1369\/2018\/02\/morphologydiagram-300x229.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 747px) 100vw, 747px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"ca\"> Aquest diagrama il\u00b7lustra aquest fet: les formes m\u00e9s simples s\u00f3n m\u00e9s comuns amb humitats relatives baixes, mentre que les formes m\u00e9s complexes de cristall es formen amb humitats elevades. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span lang=\"ca\">Encara no es coneixen les variables precises de la formaci\u00f3 de les formes particulars, tot i que els investigadors en el camp de la cristal\u00b7lografia treballen cont\u00ednuament en equacions te\u00f2riques per predir les formes dels flocs de neu. El nombre de categories que es poden classificar els cristalls de neu ha anat augmentant constantment al llarg dels anys. La geometria dels flocs de neu va ser reconeguda per primera vegada l&#8217;any 1611 per l&#8217;astr\u00f2nom alemany Johannes Kepler. Va descriure certes formes b\u00e0siques de flocs de neu, basats sempre en la naturalesa hexagonal dels flocs de neu; haurien de passar 200 anys per poder-ho associar a l&#8217;estructura at\u00f2mica i molecular de l&#8217;aigua. Durant la d\u00e8cada de 1930, nous estudis van classificar en 21 categories diferents de forma; en la d\u00e8cada de 1950, es va expandir a 42 categories, en els anys 60 a 80 categories, i el m\u00e9s recent el 2013 a una sorprenent xifra de 121 categories. Aquest \u00faltim estudi divideix la classificaci\u00f3 en tres subnivells: general, intermedi i elemental. Va observar-ne una gran varietat de geometries, per\u00f2 no va aconseguir trobar-ne dos d&#8217;id\u00e8ntics. Per tant, va concloure que era molt poc probable que pogu\u00e9s ser cert:\u00a0 com que un floc de neu pot estar format per 10<sup>18<\/sup> mol\u00e8cules d\u2019aigua (es a dir, un trili\u00f3 de mol\u00e8cules d\u2019aigua), la probabilitat que dos flocs siguin id\u00e8ntics \u00e9s pr\u00e0cticament nul\u00b7la, ja que s\u2019estructuren de manera diferent segons les condicions ambientals. Per\u00f2 qu\u00e8 passa quan es formen en condicions ambientals comuns? L&#8217;any 1988<span lang=\"ca\">, Nancy Knight (EUA), cient\u00edfica del Centre Nacional d&#8217;Investigaci\u00f3 de l&#8217;Atmosfera de Boulder, Colorado, EUA, va trobar dos flocs de neu id\u00e8ntics mentre estudiava els cristalls de neu d&#8217;una tempesta a Wisconsin, utilitzant un microscopi. Per tant, <\/span>va quedar demostrat que 2 flocs de neu poden ser totalment id\u00e8ntics si les condicions ambientals en el quals es formen son prou semblants.
