Per celebrar ho, des de l\u2019any 2008 la Instituci\u00f3 de les Lletres Catalanes i la Federaci\u00f3 Catalana d\u2019Associacions i Clubs Unesco promocionen aquesta celebraci\u00f3 tant en el nostre domini ling\u00fc\u00edstic com a la resta d\u2019Europa i del m\u00f3n amb l\u2019elecci\u00f3 d\u2019un poeta i un seu poema per a l\u2019ocasi\u00f3. Partint d\u2019aquesta composici\u00f3, la ILC elabora un fullet amb l\u2019original en catal\u00e0 i la seva traducci\u00f3 a vint-i-dues lleng\u00fces, que difon \u00e0mpliament, promou l\u2019organitzaci\u00f3 d\u2019accions po\u00e8tiques, presencials i a trav\u00e9s de les xarxes, i organitza un acte central el mateix dia 21.
