Des de l\u2019any 1997 es commemora el 24 d\u2019octubre com el\u00a0dia de les biblioteques<\/strong>\u00a0en record de la destrucci\u00f3 de la biblioteca de Sarajevo durant el conflicte dels Balcans.<\/p>\n L\u2019edici\u00f3 d\u2019aquest any, sota el lema \u201cBiblioteques: llegir, aprendre, descobrir\u201d es centra en destacar el paper de les biblioteques de diferent tipologia com a espais lliures, diversos i oberts per a l\u2019acc\u00e9s a la cultura i el coneixement a partir de la lectura i del conjunt de recursos que permeten l\u2019aprenentatge i possibiliten el descobriment d\u2019altres idees, altres persones, altres cultures i altres mons.
