Dissabte 24 d\u2019octubre se celebra el Dia de les Biblioteques, d\u2019en\u00e7\u00e0 de 1992, en record a la destrucci\u00f3 de la biblioteca de Sarajevo durant el conflicte dels Balcans. Aquesta commemoraci\u00f3 ens recorda la necessitat de seguir impulsant les biblioteques, de fer visible el seu paper a la societat actual com a lloc de trobada amb la cultura i el coneixement i com a instrument de millora de la societat.
